Why You Should Buy Faux Plants

I’m going to be talking about something pretty taboo…Faux plants.

If you’re not into the art of Feng Shui, then faux plants can be an option for you.

Fake plant

I personally think they really tie a room together. Some people do believe that faux plants can be tacky or cheap looking. Finding a good quality faux can turn your home into a silk garden and dupe most people.

I’m going to go into the reasons why you should incorporate faux plants into your collection.

Non faux plants are picky

Live plants can require a lot of time and patience. You need to make sure you do your research when you buy a real plant, and consider what areas a real plant can thrive in a space.

Plants can die if you don’t get a water ratio correct, they can die if they don’t get enough sun, they can die if you don’t fertilize enough, I mean, plants can be real divas sometimes.

These are no worries when you have faux plants.

“Put that faux palm in a dark corner and don’t ever water it!”

When I was bound to apartment living I found that a lot of the apartments didn’t have many options when it came to natural light. The only good lighting spots were a window here and there and a slider door that I couldn’t just block with a giant plant.

So, I turned to faux plants. I found a lot of good quality plants on my shopping adventures to home goods stores. I remember having a faux succulent in a windowless kitchen and a friend asking how I kept it alive in there without sun. I’d smirk back at them and tell them that they’re fake.

Faux plants can fool you

Other than the succulent in my dungeon of a kitchen, I’ve been fooled at others homes.

I remember going to a friend’s house and immediately had heart eyes when I saw their enormous monstera! I couldn’t believe they had such a healthy and big plant. I was truly in awe. Like, any plant weirdo I naturally went over to it to check it out… To my amazement, it was fake?!

There are many companies out there that make faux plants, and have amazing quality to them.

Some do come at a cost, but the time and energy you’ll save can be well worth it. And many faux plants that I’ve bought in the past have lasted forever!

Same affect that real plants give, in a way

Real plants have countless benefits in your home.  They can purify the air, for one.

Well, faux plants can’t do that but they can still give off the positive aesthetic in your home.

An empty corner in your home could be a great spot for a plant.

You can have the plant you always wanted but couldn’t

Some plants are not suitable for all homes. Put aside the watering and lighting aspect.

There many dangerous plants out there that can make someone or something very sick.

If you have a pet or young child, they might be tempted to eat a plant or put it in their mouths. Even having a cactus can be dangerous due to the sharp spikes.

I found that there are a lot of those type plants that can be bought faux. And then they can munch away at the silk and plastic and not have to rush to the hospital or vet.

Do you keep killing those Fiddle ferns or can’t seem to keep anything alive but it looks so good in your entryway?

Get a faux one that will last forever.

Don’t make a mistake, buy fake

Although there are many people who I’ve talked to in the past that sneer away to the idea of faux plants, I don’t see anything wrong with them.

They have benefits, just like real ones do. They give you the freedom of not worrying every second that you’ll kill it.

They also can give you the freedom to be creative too. I have a few faux terrariums in like, wine glasses that real plants would never survive in.
