Best Gifts For Any Plant Lover

Top 5 Best Gifts For Any Plant Lover

Holidays can be hard enough as it is when it comes to finding the right present. Especially for those in your life who seem to have almost everything.

I feel like everyone these days has some number of plants in their home. Fanatic or not, any houseplant parent wants their leafy friend(s) to thrive.

Whether you are an experienced plant parent or just starting out on your plant journey these are 5 of the best gifts you can either give to or get any type of plant lover.

#1: Planters/Containers/Stands

Of course, this would be the #1 pick on this list because who doesn’t love a cute and aesthetic planter?

As a plant parent, I love going for basic white planters that may have a little character, like ridges or an imprinted design. But planters come in a lot of different shapes and styles to fit anyone’s personality or style. And what a better way to showcase your new pots (or plants) then with a trendy plant stand.

Containers, like glass jars are also a good choice. Not only can you use them as a nice vase, but they can also be used as propagation jars.

Helpful hint: If you are gifting this, you may want to know the person before picking out a planter. Getting to know whether they like a certain style or color can be a step in the right direction to gold gifting status.

Cost:

These gifts can vary widely in cost. On average planters can run you anywhere from $5-$100+. The range is due to the size of pot, custom designs, or quality.

#2: Watering Cans

Not all watering cans have to be the large plastic ones you use in the garden. Like planters, you can get modern looking watering cans that are almost too cute to put away.

Irrigation bottles are also a great small gift to add to a gift basket or stockings. These may not be the most beautiful looking watering tools, but these are the best when it comes to smaller plants or giving plants a water-based treatment, like hydrogen peroxide for fungus gnats.

These bottles are great for those types of treatments because you can completely cover the surface of the topsoil without drowning the plant. They also work great for wetting down moss poles.

Cost:

Watering cans can run anywhere from $10-$50+ depending on type, style and size. Irrigation bottles are the most cost-effective ranging from $3-$10.

#3: Moss Poles/Trellises

While on the topic of moss poles, both moss poles and trellises are great for plants that like to climb. Stabilizing a climbing plant will make it grow larger leaves and just be over all happier plants.

Moss poles come in a lot of different lengths to accommodate the plants size, so you may need to know how big the gift recipient’s plant is before going out and getting the right moss pole.

Trellises on the other hand are a little more fool proof. Plants will crawl all around a trellis, even overlap. These are such a unique gift due to the variety of styles you can get. You can go super simple, like a geometric shape or do something bolder like a 3D printed shape of their favorite character.

Cost:

Moss poles cost anywhere from $6-30+ depending on materials used and length. Same goes for trellises, although they can become pricier the more custom you get.

#4: Planty Merch

T-shirts, coffee mugs, books, stickers, keychains…the list goes on and on. There’s no plant parent on the planet who doesn’t love planty things. This is a great gift for the plant lover in your life that actually has everything.

There are so many avenues you can go with this gift idea, and there’s not much of a guessing game for this one – other than maybe a clothing size.

Cost:

This probably has the widest range of price. All depending on what you get, some of the cheaper options could be things like stickers or keychains.

#5: PLANTS

Ok, this seems like a cop out and really a no brainer. But when it comes to the best gifts for any plant lover: get them a plant! I don’t know how many memes I’ve seen of other plant parents sharing about “how hard it is to shop for them” when all we plant parents really want is more plants.

Knowing what kind of houseplants the person collects or/and what plants they may already have is a good step in the right direction. But coming from a plant parent who has over 90 plants in their collection – I wouldn’t be mad at a duplicate plant.

Cost:

Plants can go for $3-$40+ for more common plants like pothos or monsteras. Plants can get expensive the rarer they are going up to the thousands.

Take The Stress Out Of Gifting

Whether you’re celebrating the holidays, or a birthday gifting can be stressful. Not knowing what to buy someone or just wanting to get that perfect gift and throw you into a tailspin.

I hope this helps shed some light on the best gifts for any plant lover and help take the guessing out of gifting.

And if you want my advice:

go buy a plant!
